Before we begin:
As you may (or may not be) aware, Why Generation is a music site. But last night I attended the Raindance Film Festival closing night to see Pinball: The Man Who Saved The Game and enjoyed it so much I’m attempting to write a film review. Please be gentle.
A true story, the film follows Roger Sharpe (played by Mike Faist), as he negotiates his love affair with pinball in a city where it’s illegal under gambling laws, and how that 35-year ban was overturned.
Meanwhile, Roger falls head over heels for the beautiful Ellen (played by Crystal Reed), a single mother to an 11-year-old son, and a heartwarming love story takes place.
Mike Faist, is a shining star as Roger Sharpe. Engaging, warming and talented, even with the handicap of a strip of hair glued to his top lip…
"It will inject life into the bleakest of days, reminding us there is love, there is passion and there are happy endings."
The first feature film written and directed by brothers, Austin and Meredith Bragg, Pinball: The Man Who Saved The Game is an incredible debut. Fashionable, snappy and incredibly funny, it is a story of triumph.
It will inject life into the bleakest of days, reminding us there is love, there is passion and there are happy endings.
