LA outfit MILLY share nostalgic EP lead single ‘Denial’

Los Angeles outfit Milly share sentimental new effort ‘Denial’, set for release February 12th via Dangerbird Records (Grandaddy, Swervedriver).

Forming the lead single from the group’s Wish Goes On’ EP out April 9th, ‘Denial’ is a bittersweet reflection on loss, solitude and times gone by, opening with a melancholic guitar chord sequence, before the song’s nostalgia is underpinned by an unwavering rhythmic foundation and grinding bass.

Reflecting on the song’s meaning, bandleader Brendan Dyer explained: “‘Denial’ is about the idea of being fixated on something but knowing deep down it’s gone. I was living in NY at the time I wrote it and was going back and forth between there and Connecticut. I was really trying to capture the feeling of being alone and why it was hard for me to digest how that felt. My hometown spots feeling different after leaving, people moving on with their lives, etc”.
