We know that traditional Christmas songs, Jingle Bells, 12 Days of Christmas, Silent Night and so on, don’t necessarily fit in with our ethos of creating music content for ‘the misfits, the moshers, the early morning rockers’.

Of course, they are beautiful songs, but are they slightly… tame on occasion?

So we have put together Merry Christmas Misfits, our new Spotify playlist featuring our favourite alternative Christmas tunes for our readers to rock out to this Christmas, (and we’ve chucked in a few classics too because you can never go wrong with the Fairytale of New York or a bit of Mariah Carey).

From old favourites like Band-Aid, Happy Xmas (War Is Over), and Stay Another Day, to  My Chemical Romance covering All I Want For Christmas Is you, Korn’s heavy metal version of Kidnap The Sandy Claws, to The Darkness holiday anthem, The Christmas Song, (Don’t Let the Bells End), there is guaranteed to be something to shake your bones.
