Dinosaur Pile-Up enrapture O2 Kentish Town London 23/03/22

Alt-rock trio Dinosaur Pile-Up proved their continual popularity at their London headline show, which due to Covid-19, finally took place two years after it was originally scheduled, with herds of free-spirited fans from start to finish thriving on the enticing zest of the set.

At this point, mosh pits are almost customary at a Dinosaur Pile-Up gig and within the first song, exhilarating energy soared through the crowd, circle pits formed left and right, whilst singer Matt Bigland told fans to put their ‘horns in the air’.

The resilience demonstrated by fans who for two years had been waiting for this moment to once again be together and scream the lyrics to their favourite songs was glorious, the whole venue was alight with passion with Dinosaur Pile-Up leading the revolution.

In just under an hour’s performance, the band played every hit, their tongue in cheek lyrics and ear-shattering rifts going down a treat with audience members. In between songs they took the time to thank the crowd and reminisce on the pandemic, putting into words what everyone was feeling, thank fuck that gigs are back.

Ending on a high with the hit song ‘Back Foot’, the playfulness of the lyrics seemed particularly poignant at that moment.

“I’m gonna keep on doing it ’til I get to the top”, this gig further proves that the band are almost there.
